Pier Review: 1907

1907. "Atlantic City Boardwalk (lower right) and Young's Million-Dollar Pier." Out on the pier just beyond Marine Hall, and modeled after a popular Coney Island ride, is an attraction called The Tickler ("The big tubs go bowling their curious way down the incline, loaded with happy, laughing passengers," according to an item in the Atlantic Review). This image, a continuation of yesterday's Atlantic City panorama, shows at least two box kites on what must have been a windy day. 8x10 inch dry plate glass negative, Detroit Publishing Company.
