1907. "Atlantic City Boardwalk (lower right) and Young's Million-Dollar Pier." Out on the pier just beyond Marine Hall, and modeled after a popular Coney Island ride, is an attraction called The Tickler ("The big tubs go bowling their curious way down the incline, loaded with happy, laughing passengers," according to an item in the Atlantic Review).
